Alert security personnel in Belmopan have been able to take off ammunition from a public place. On Thursday of last week at about 2:40 am, a Belmopan Quick Response Team was on mobile patrol on the Salvapan main road when their attention was drawn to two male persons on a red white and black Sky Go motorcycle, without  license plate,  travelling at high speed. They were signaled to stop, but refused to do so.

Their fleeing from the law was short lived. Both men on the motorcycle were intercepted at the junction of Guatemala Street and San Martin Main where they were searched. Whilst searching one of the male persons, Police found in  his back pocket a black plastic bag, which contained (4) 32 auto w-w brand live rounds of ammunition (2) 32 auto MRP brand live rounds of ammunition and (1) 9mm Aguila brand  live round of Ammunition. He was informed of the offence committed, cautioned and escorted to the Belmopan police station along with the ammunition. His name was learnt to be Maynor Noe Ramirez 20 years, a Belizean laborer of Costa Rica Street, Belmopan City.  He was charged for keeping ammunition without a gun license.
The Regional Police Commander congratulated the police officers involved in this case for their keen observation.
