Fifteen year-old Kurk Broaster, a resident of Pickstock Street, is in a critical condition after being shot at least once in the abdomen.

It happened in the jungle area, of the city at the corner of Pickstock Street and New Road. He was standing on the street corner sometime around 4 p.m. on Monday, December 28, when 2 men on motorcycle rode up. Broaster was in the company of another minor, and a soon as the men on motorcycle approached, they fired a barrage of shots at both of them.

Broaster was hit, possibly more than once, but the most serious gunshot injury was to his chest. He had to be rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he is clinging to life. His family has told the press that at the time of the shooting, he had gone to the shop near to his house. He supposedly stopped to talk to his friend, and that’s when he was attacked.
