Security forces continue to find marijuana in Cayo. On Saturday of this past weekend, the Special Branch Tactical Response Squad (TRS) conducted anti-crime operations in Roaring Creek Village, Cayo District, where the residence of Andres Garbutt of Cooperation Avenue, Roaring Creek Village, was searched which led to the discovery of a black plastic bag containing a green leafy substance suspected to be cannabis. The substance was found under a cushion in the sofa.  Present at the time of the search at the same address was 39 year old Andres Edward Garbutt Belizean Taxi Driver and 37 year old Janet Greta Cadle, a Belizean teacher. They were informed of the offence committed and escorted to the Belmopan police station along with the suspected drugs, which was weighed in their presence. Both Andres Garbutt and Janet Cadle were jointly charged for the offence of “Possession of a Controlled Drug” amounting to 34 grams.

Also in Belmopan, 20 year old Michael Garcia of the San Martin area, Belmopan City, reported that on Saturday of this past weekend he had his 2013 black and blue UNICO brand motorcycle stolen. The Belizean labourer had parked his 200cc means of transport bearing no licence plate, with VIN # lpplcmaxd130348 beside his house and upon getting up about 3:00 am to use the restroom, he noticed that his motorcycle was missing. Belmopan Police continue to investigate this case.
