Kieron Moss, a 21 year-old resident of Freedom Street, was killed a very short distance from his house on New Years Day.  According to those who know him, Moss was a respectable young man who was doing all the right things to stay away from the street life. Yet, try as he might, he was gunned down by shooters who treated him like just another gang affiliated youth.

According to Police it happened at around 5 a.m. on January 1, 2016. He was in the company of two girls, and they were walking on Levi Slusher Street, when 2 unknown assailants rode up on motorcycle. One of the men pulled out a weapon and fired several shots at Moss, targeting him directly. He was injured several times in the head and body, and he collapsed as soon as the bullets struck him. He was rushed to the KHMH, but he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police are investigating this, the first murder for 2016, and they do not have an established motive for why Moss was killed. His family has told the press that he was known for his love of basketball.
