Lavern LongsworthWell known court personality, Lavern Longsworth, aka “Anti-Christ”, is behind bars for the murder of her estranged common-law husband David White.  Longsworth was charged on Tuesday December 14 for killing her common-law husband. White died after Longsworth set him on fire on July 15.

Longsworth was taken to Magistrate’s Court and charged with murder. Just days following the incident she had been charged with attempted murder and was offered bail in the sum of $6,000. The bail was one which had been strongly criticized by White’s family who had expected Longsworth to be charged with murder from the onset. However, it took some time for police investigators to gather the evidence against Longsworth, which included, television interviews which she gave in which she admitted to killing her common law husband.

When she appeared in Court #2 before the Senior Magistrate Sharon Frazer, Longsworth, who was unrepresented, was read a single charge of murder. No plea was taken and she was remanded to the Belize Central Prison until December 30.

Reports are that on July 15 White and Longsworth who lived together at #12 Castle Street got into an argument before 12:00 midnight and Longsworth allegedly threw kerosene over him from a bottle. She then reportedly lit a lighter and set him on fire. Reports are that White ran out of the house and was followed by Longsworth who tried to out the flames from his body. White was hospitalized for a little over two weeks before succumbing to his injuries at the KHMH on the morning of August 2. Longsworth is a single mother. She has three children ages 17, 10 and 16. She now joins her son, who is presently serving a 1 ½ year jail term.
