Moses Ervin Gonguez, a 36-year-old resident of Sibun Street, was murdered on the night of 2015 Municipal Elections in Belize City during the time when the ballots were being counted. The man who is believed to have been his killer, was shot by police and continues to be hospitalized. Police currently suspect an internal feud within the Ghost Town Crips Gang which is based on Mayflower Street.

It happened at around 9:15 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4, when Gonguez was socializing with 23 year-old Triston Gordon of Casuarina Street. They were in the company of 4 friends at number 13 Mayflower Street. It is believed that 32 year-old Jervis Valencio, aka Jervis Valencia, ambushed the crowd and fired several shots at the group. Gonguez was fatally injured, while Tristion Gordon was shot in the left leg. Valencia fled the scene of the crime, but he made it only a short distance away when he met responding police officers. According to police, they ordered him to surrender himself, but that’s when Velencia turned a weapon on the officers. In response, the officers shot Valencia several times in the chest and neck, and he was then rushed to the KHMH where he remains under police guard. Gonguez, who was fatally injured, is believed to be from an affiliate gang of the Ghost Town Crips, and Valencia, is also identified as a member of Ghost Town.
