A highly gifted resident from Benque Viejo del Carmen, Ricky Cunil, recently received a prosthetic leg to aid him in his involvement in many community related projects. His assistance came via a US based organization, Hope International with special coordination from Manuela Lue of Energy for Life Program and Milagro Garel of the World Pediatric Project.

Ricky Cunil wishes to thank the individual efforts that have assisted him with fund raising events such as Gilberto Guerra, from Piccadilly Charity in order to give Project Hope a donation for them to help someone else. He also wants to thank the Community Policing Unit of San Ignacio, which provided transportation to Belize City for the follow up visit in January 2016 and shortly afterwards, provided transportation to Orange Walk. Ricky Cunil expresses a special acknowledgement to Corporal Joshua McKoy, Commander of the Benque Viejo Community Policing Unit, who has always been there with his unconditional support on and off duty. Both the Benque Viejo Police Sub-Formation and the Mopan Technical High School were supportive of his arduous efforts to obtain greater mobility in his quest to improve the lives of others in the Belizean society.
