The U.S. Embassy in Belmopan, Belize would like to inform all applicants for non-immigrant visas to the United States that there is a new online visa application form, the DS-160. The U.S. State Department's Bureau of Consular Affairs developed the DS-160 web-based nonimmigrant visa (NIV) application to incorporate all existing NIV applications into one interactive, online form. The new DS-160 replaces the three forms that made up the Electronic Visa Application Form (EVAF).
The new form, DS-160, is available on the Embassy’s website: http://belize.usembassy.gov.
The new form is available for use now. Beginning May 25, 2010, persons scheduling interviews for non-immigrant visas must use the new DS-160 form. After May 31, 2010, the old form DS-156 will no longer be accepted.
The new form is entirely online and will be transmitted to the Embassy electronically upon submission. Visa applicants will no longer need to bring a printed copy of the entire application to the interview. Applicants must still print the DS-160 confirmation sheet, pay the application fee, and use the same online appointment system to make an appointment for the visa interview. Visa applicants who complete a visa application at an internet café should check to be sure they are using the correct form.
With demand for U.S. visas continuing to increase worldwide, the Department of State is committed to using new technologies to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the visa application process. The DS-160 NIV application takes advantage of new technologies to better serve our visa applicants.
