A couple of youths, Michael Tesecum and Sherlene Rodriguez have come up with a novel idea to raise funds to help fight the crime situation in Belize. The couple says they intend to walk from Corozal to Punta Gorda and in the process raise funds to assist in the fight against crime.

Their plan is yet in the preparatory phase and explained to the Guardian that they are seeking assistance in order to carry out the walk. Tesecum, a 33 year old of Belize City resident, says he has been in prison three times already and tired and frustrated with the crime situation has decided to go on the walk. Rodriguez who is a resident of Dangriga, shares the same sentiment as Tesecum and are both hoping to embark on the walk very shortly.

The couple says that they have a love for walking and hope that they will be able to walk at least 25 miles a day starting off from Corozal to Orange Walk then on to Belize City. From Belize City they intend to walk to San Ignacio, returning to the Belmopan junction by bus and then walk to Dangriga. From Dangriga they will return to the mile six junction to the Southern Highway and from there they will walk to Punta Gorda.

The couple says they are seeking assistance in any form in order for their walk to take place. They say that already Yolanda Schakron. They however are asking anyone who can assist them in any form to get in touch with Schakron. They want to get to walking as soon as possible.
