Throughout 2009, Amazon has been creating top 100 album lists for a number of categories. The latest of such lists is the 100 Greatest World Music Albums of All Time. At the number one spot on that list is the album “Watina” by Andy Palacio and the Garifuna Collective.
World Music is music that is not traditionally Western. The albums feature music from a particular region, culture or heritage. In a release, Ivan Duran said, “The list features amazing artists from around the world including legendary icons such as Fela Kuti, Bob Marley, Celia Cruz, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Tito Puente, Youssou N'Dour, Peter Tosh, Ravi Shankar among others. Congrats Andy! You continue to be an inspiration for many of us.”

He also thanked everyone else involved in the “Watina” project for continuing to take music to new heights.
