The Ministry of Youth, Sports, Information and Broadcasting and Youth for the Future as a part of the National Youth Week to be observed from November 21 to 28, 2009 present: 
The Belize Youth Award, for the most exceptional and deserving youth throughout Belize.  The Belize Youth Award seeks to highlight and acknowledge the efforts of youth in various fields of endeavor nationally. The Awards will be given in ten (10) categories and will culminate in an awards night during the National Youth Week 2009.

1. Youth Minister’s Award (Leadership)

2. The Pacesetter Award (Unattached Youth)

3. Youth In Sports Award

4. Youth with Special Needs Achievement Award

5. Youth In Business Award (Entrepreneur 14-29 years)

6. Youth in Visual/ Creative/ Performing arts Award

7. Award for Academic Excellence

8. Environmental Award  (Group/Individual)

9. Voluntary Youth Service Award (Secondary/Tertiary Institution)

10. Youth Service Provider Award

If you have knowledge of any youth attaining the foregoing achievement or categories, nominate them. Nomination forms may be obtained from any Youth for the Future office throughout the country: Belize City, Youth For the Future Secretariat on Youth For the Future Drive; Orange Walk District on Queen Victoria Street; Corozal Town at the Town Council; Cayo District on Buena Vista Street; San Ignacio Town; Dangriga Town at the District Education Center and Toledo District on Prince Street near the Airstrip. The Belize Youth Award acknowledges the achievements of exceptional young people around Belize and is fundamental to inspire other young people to achieve great success and to know that good achievements are recognized and appreciated.

The Belize Youth Award has been established by the Government of Belize to inspire and to create a new image, a new model for all Belizean youth countrywide to emulate.
