Belmopan. March 2nd, 2016. Four Belizeans have been selected to participate in the Juntos Program, a Japanese Friendship Ties Program with Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) in March 2016.
The participants, who were selected from among 60 applicants, comprise two (2) male and female candidates of diverse cultural and professional backgrounds. They are Ms. Cecy Castillo, Ms. Christa Hulse, Mr. Donghoon Choe and Mr. Raphael Martinez.

The candidates will act as Belizean ambassadors during their two-week exchange in Japan where they will fulfill the two objectives of the program: (1) to promote further understanding of the Japanese society, history, culture, politics and foreign policy; and (2) to deepen the relations between Japan and the LAC.

The participants met with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Hon. Wilfred Elrington on Tuesday, March 1st, sharing their expectations for their upcoming trip.

Belize is honoured to be given this opportunity to showcase its quality, uniqueness and diversity through the Juntos Program as this is its first time participating in the exchange which is regularly conducted by the Japanese Government.
