The Honorable Elodio Aragon Jr. keeps demonstrating that he is indeed “the man for the job” as he continues to expend energy and resources to improve the quality of life of Belizeans, especially his constituents in Orange walk East. This past Sunday February 28, Hon. Aragon placed yet another stud in the developmental fabric of Orange Walk East. Residents of Carmelita Village came out to witness the inauguration of two new bathroom facilities and new bleachers for the football field.

The upgrade in Carmelita also included the complete refurbishment of the Bill Jones Sporting Complex and the painting of the Basketball Court which was also retrofitted with new backboards and rims. This improvement, in a village that is very active in sports, was greatly anticipated by its residents. In the past the village of Carmelita had no true representation and was in effect neglected in all aspects. This came to an end when Honorable Elodio Aragon Jr. was elected to represent them and he has been adamant in ensuring that the needs of the people of Orange East are met.

In months of December, 2015 and January 2016 three new community centers were inaugurated. Chan Pine Ridge, Santa Marta and Tower Hill Villages each received a beautiful Community Center.  Each center has a large hall for social and other gatherings, and each is equipped with a computer lab with a number of computers which are made available to all the villagers free of cost. There was previously no community center in any of these villages and they had been clamoring for one since time immemorial. Mr. Aragon has found financing through government and other creative ways and has come through for his people.
