The Central Region Secondary Schools Basketball Competition continues at the Belize City Centre.

On Friday November 13, in the first female game, Gwen Lizarraga High School defeated St. Catherine Academy by the score of 43-8. The top scorers for Gwen Lizarraga were Glenda Torres with 29 points and Sheryn Nuñez with 8 points, while the top scorer for St. Catherine was Kursha Pollard with 7 points.

In the second female game, Anglican Cathedral College defeated Nazarene High School by the score of 17-7. The top scorer for Anglican Cathedral

College was Rashawn Perterau with 6 points and for Nazarene High School it was Terrylee Hamilton with 4 points.

According to the organisers the male game that was scheduled could not be played as no ball was available.

On Thursday November 12, in the first male game played, defending champion and the competition’s favourite Sadie Vernon Technical High School defeated Ladyville Technical High School by the score of 75-44. The top scorers for Sadie Vernon Technical High School were Kashief Thomas with 14 points and Calvin Tench Jr. with 13 points. Meanwhile, the top scorers for Ladyville Technical were Russell Staine with 16 points and Jael Ottley with 8 points.

In the second male game, Excelsior High School defeated Edward P. Yorke High School by the score of 67-61. The top scorers for Excelsior High were Kurtis Lamb with 38 points, and Emerson Faber with 16 points, while the top scorers for Edward P.Yorke High School were Hanson Crawford with 27 points and Trevor McFoy with 12 points.

On Wednesday November 11, in the first male game, St. John’s College defeated Tubal by the score of 59-56. The top scorers for St. John’s College were Raheem Staine with 15 points, and Kendice Williams with 14 points, and the top scorers for Tubal were Darren Longsworth with 33 points and Ian Wagner with 7 points.

In the second game, Gwen Lizarraga defeated Anglican Cathedral College by the score of 62-46. The top scorers for Gwen Lizarraga were Matthew Young with 33 points and Sherwin Garcia with 14 points. Meanwhile, the top scorers for Anglican Cathedral College were Justin Usher with 14 points and Alain Alexis with 16 points.

On Tuesday November 10, in the female game, Wesley College defeated Pallotti High School by the score of 26-30. The top scorers for Wesley College were Anna Pinto with 11 points, and Zelyse Tucker with 10 points, while the top scorer for Pallotti was Victoria Zelaya with 18 points.

In the male game, Sadie Vernon Technical defeated Wesley College by the score of 99-42. The top scorers for Sadie Vernon Technical were Kashief Thomas with 26 points and London Reneau with 18 points, while the top scores for Wesley College were Vince Young with 14 points and Kadeem Loredo with 11 points.
