Wesley College boys maintains lead in high school football competition Print E-mail

The Central Region Secondary Schools Football Competition continues at the MCC Grounds with a number of games played over this week and the last one.

On Tuesday 26 January in the male competition game played, St. John’s College and Ladyville Technical High School played to a 0-0 draw.

On Monday 25 January, Anglican Cathedral College males defeated Gwen Lizarraga High School by the score of 2-1. The goals for Anglican Cathedral College were scored by Christian Ancona and Akeem Sutherland. Meanwhile, the only goal of the game for Gwen Lizarraga High School was scored by Hakeem Smith.

Naim Wilson of Gwen Lizarraga High School was issued with a red card.

The competition continued on Saturday 23 January with three games on the schedule and all in the male competition.

In the first game played, Anglican Cathedral College defeated Maud Williams High School by the score of 8-0. The goals for Anglican Cathedral College were scored by Akeem Sutherland (3), Herman Card, Kenroy Daly, Darnell Flowers, Trevaun Rhaburn and Kyle Samuel.

In the second game of the day, the competition’s only undefeated school Wesley College continued on its winning path when it blanked Belize High School by the score of 6-0. The goals for Wesley College were scored by Deandre Pitter (3), Kermit Sutherland, Devin Pablo and Shemar Thompson.

And in the final game of the day, Ladyville Technical High School won over Gwen Lizarraga High School by the score of 4-1.  The goals for Ladyville Technical High School were scored by Eric Gomez (2), David Solórzano and Diedron Baptist. For Gwen Lizarraga High School, the only goal was scored by Naim Wilson.

On Friday 22 January, in the female competition game, Gwen Lizarraga High School defeated Wesley College by the score of 2-0. The goals for Gwen Lizarraga High were scored by Essenie Ciego and Shari Mendez.

In the male game, St. John’s College defeated Belize High School by the score of 5-0. The goals for St. John’s College were scored by Jorge Ramos (2), Dennis Zuniga, Dion Cacho and Denroy Lopez.

On Thursday 21 January, in the only game in the male competition, Wesley College defeated Maud Williams High School by the score of 15-3. The goals for Wesley College were scored by Deandre Pitter(4), Kenyon Lewis (4), Shemar Thompson (2), Kermit Sutherland, Devon Davis, Shakeem Richards, Darnel Grey and Jalen Babb.

The goals for Maud Williams High School were scored by Tyrell Estrada, Jaheem James and Tylon Dyer.

And on Wednesday 20 January, in the male game played, St. John’s College blanked Gwen Lizarraga High School by the score of 3-0. The goals for St. John’s College were scored by Jorge Ramos, Erick Rodriguez and Claishaun.
