In the female championship game, St. Martin’s De Porres defeated Belize Elementary School by the score of 10-8. The top scorer for St. Martin’s De Porres was Gilda Moguel with 10 points, while the top scorer for Belize Elementary School was Balika Meighan with 4 points.In the female consolation game, Burrell Boom Methodist defeated La Democracia Government by the score of 9-5. The top scorer for Burrell Boom Methodist was Rebecca Nicholson with 5 points and the top scorer for La Democracia Government was Jasmine Garcia with 3 points. In the first female game of the day, St. Martin’s De Porres defeated Burrell Boom Methodist by the score of 15-4. The top scorer for St. Martin’s De Porres was Gilda Moguel with 13 points, while the top scorers for Burrell Boom Methodist were Devonie Reyes and Rebecca Nicholson with 2 points each. In the second female game, Belize Elementary School defeated La Democracia Government by the score of 32-17. The top scorer for Belize Elementary School was Zoe Mao with 6 points and the top scorer for La Democracia Government School was Nancy Hyde with 3 points. Meanwhile, in the male championship game, Grace Primary School defeated Caye Caulker Roman Catholic School by the score of 30-23. The top scorer for Grace Primary School was Raheem Staine with 16 points, while the top scorer for Caye Caulker Roman Catholic School was Charles Hinks with 11 points. In the male consolation game, Our Lady of the Way Roman Catholic from Ladyville defeated San Pedro Roman Catholic by the score of 26-7. The top scorer for Our Lady of the Way Roman Catholic was Marvin Ortiz with 10 points, and the top scorer for San Pedro Roman Catholic was Gabriel Nuñez with 4 points. In the first male game day of the day, the newly crowned Belize City Champion Grace Primary School defeated San Pedro Roman Catholic by the score of 37-8. The top scorers for Grace Primary School were Malcolm Nuñez and Trevor Jones with 12 points each, while the top scorer for San Pedro Roman Catholic was Leroy Nuñez with 3 points. In the second male game, Caye Caulker, the Belize City sub-champion, defeated Our Lady of the Way Roman Catholic by the score of 32-17. The top scorer for Caye Caulker Roman Catholic was Osmin Arana with 13 points, and for Our Lady of the Way Roman Catholic, the top scorer was Ornan Avila with 5 points. St. Martin’s De Porres girls and Grace Primary School boys will represent the Belize District at the National Primary Schools Basketball Championship scheduled for Friday February 12, 2010 at the Belize City Centre. |



















The 2009-2010 Belize District Primary Schools Basketball Championship came to an end on Tuesday February 2, 2010, at the Belize City Centre where the district finals were played.
