(Above) Crooked Tree Government girls - 2010 Belize District Softball Champion and (below) Burrell Boom Methodist boys - 2010 Belize District Softball ChampionThe Belize District Primary Schools Softball Championship came to an end on Monday April 19, at Rogers Stadium. The district championship featured the champions and sub-champions in both female and male categories from Belize City and Belize Rural. In the female championship game, Crooked Tree Government School defeated Burrell Boom Methodist by the score of 9-4. The winning pitcher was Elma Wade and the losing pitcher was Rebecca Nicholson.

In the first female game played, Burrell Boom Methodist defeated St. Martin’s De Porres by the

score of 6-1. The winning pitcher was Rebecca Nicholson and the losing pitcher was Gilda Moguel. In the second female game, Crooked Tree Government School defeated Holy Redeemer School by the score of 17-3. The winning pitcher was Elma Wade and the losing pitcher was Tyra Moreira.

In the male championship game, Burrell Boom Methodist defeated Our Lady of the Way RC by the score of 5-2. The winning pitcher was Isanny Pook and the losing pitcher was Jerome Carr. In the first male game of the day, Our Lady of the Way RC defeated Queen Square Anglican School by the score of 7-5. The winning pitcher was Jerome Carr and the losing pitcher was Devaun Zuniga.

In the second game, Burrell Boom Methodist won over Central Christian School via the default route. Crooked Tree Government School girls and Burrell Boom Methodist boys will represent the Belize district in the National Primary Schools Softball Championship at Rogers Stadium on Friday April 23, 2010.
