Belizean cyclists excel in Guatemala City Print E-mail

The Belize Cycling Association had representation at the XLVI Vuelta Internacional de La Juventud Categoria sub-23 from August 25 to 29, 2010 in Guatemala City. The Belizean Contingent consisted of a five man team. The cyclists who represented Belize at the meet were Allen Castillo, Angel Tzib, David Henderson, Peter Choto and Geovanni Choto.

Belizean Allen Castillo captured the 1st place position in the speed event with a cumulative total of 32 points. Aldo Zamora of Jalapa Associaiton finished second with 20 points, and Mario Santizo of Coca Coca finished third with 15 points.

In the general classification, the top finishers in this event were Dorian Monterroso of team El Quetzalteco of Guatemala, and he completed the course in a time of 10:55:18.  Second place position went to his teammate Fredy Colop who completed the event in a time of 10:57:46, and third place went to Belizean Geovanni Choto who completed the event in a time of 10:57:46.
