The Central Region Secondary Schools Basketball Competition is fast winding down at the Belize City Centre. On Friday November 26, in the female game, St. Catherine Academy defeated long time rivals Pallotti High School by the score of 32 to 29. The top scorers for St. Catherine Academy were Kursha Pollard with 18 points and Gilda Estrada with 10 points. Meanwhile, the top scorers for Pallotti High School were Ann Ma with 12 points and Jinecie Pott with 6 points.
In the first of two male games played, Wesley College picked up an easy win when Ladyville Technical High School failed to show up for its second game in the week. In the final game of the evening, Gwen Lizarraga High School defeated Nazarene High School by the score of 73 to 47. The top scorers for Gwen Lizarraga High School were Matthew Young with 25 points and Raheem Flowers with 14 points. For Nazarene High School, the top scorers were Alejandro Baptist with 20 points and Avery Gordon with 10 points.
On Thursday November 25, in the female game, Wesley College defeated Anglican Cathedral College by the score of 31 to 15. The top scorers for Wesley College were Anna Pinto with 11 points, Shanice Humes and Genae Samuels with 6 points each, while the top scorer for the Anglican Cathedral College was Shantel Lambey with 9 points.
In the male game, Sadie Vernon Technical High School defeated Canaan Seventh Day High School by the score of 89 to 46. The top scorers for Sadie Vernon Technical were Andrew Ortiz with 21 points and Kashief Thomas with 18 points. For Canaan Seventh Day, the top scorers were Winston Reynolds with 17 points and Kevin Hamilton with 14 points.
Two more games were played on Wednesday, November 24; in the female game, Gwen Lizarraga High School defeated Pallotti High School by the score of 55 to 21. The top scorers for Gwen Lizarraga High School were Glenda Torres with 21 points and Adrianna Meighan with 13 points. Meanwhile, the top scorers for Pallotti High School were Shanelle Lord and Sharony Chen with 7 points each.
In the male game, Nazarene High School defeated Anglican Cathedral College by the score of 73 to 65. The top scorers for Nazarene High School were Alejandro Baptist with 42 points and Anthony Neal with 18 points, while the top scorers for Anglican Cathedral College were Shaquille Smith with 27 points and Travis Bernardez with 21 points.
