The shop of a businesswoman, located on the Northern Highway, was the site of a robbery and police have managed to charge in relation to the crime. He is 28-year-old Pavilou Garbutt, a resident of the Jane Usher Area. He appeared unrepresented before Magistrate Khadeen Palmer in court on Monday, April 15, 2019 where he was read a single charge of abetment to robbery. He pleaded not guilty to the charge and was offered bail in the sum of $3,000 plus one surety of the same amount which he was able to meet. He is due back in court on June 13, 2019.

The incident is said to have occurred on April 11, 2019 at a store at Mile 13 on the Philip Goldson Highway. During the robbery, it is alleged that four men robbed the woman of cell phones, cash, and a pistol, all to a total of $10,600. One of the men was armed with a firearm and pointed the weapon in her face. The assailants all left the store and entered a Nissan Altima car that led police to Rujan Staine, who claims that he rented the car to Garbutt.
