A stolen item at the San Ignacio Hospital has been successfully recovered by Police. According to a press release issued today by the Police Department, on the 13th of February 2014, Doctor Guillermo Rivas, 53-year-old Medical Officer at the San Ignacio Community Hospital reported to Police that sometime around midday he was in the maternity ward section of the hospital where he returned a few minutes later because he had forgotten his white in color Samsung brand Tablet with a black casing valued at 0.00 and discovered it missing. As a result Police visited the Hospital and conducted searches on personnel working at the time but nothing was found.

An investigation was launched into the matter as it was then learnt that this was not the first time that items have been stolen from the facility, yet no report was made. Hence the reason Police exhausted all efforts to recover the missing tablet.

Following up on promising leads, Police executed a search warrant at the Santa Elena Town residence of Nurse Maria Bautista 43yrs and her husband Rudolfo Bran 42yrs on Thursday of last week, where a white in color Samsung brand tablet was found containing photographs and documents of Dr. Guillermo Rivas. Both persons were informed of the offence committed and detained. The said tablet was later viewed and positively identified by the Doctor.
Both Bautista and Bran were formally arrested and charged for handling stolen goods and appeared on Tuesday of this week at the San Ignacio Magistrate Court before Magistrate Narda Morgan where they both pleaded not guilty and were granted bail at $2000.00 each and the matter was adjourned until March 19, 2014. According to the Police Press Release, presently Nurse Bautista is on suspension pending the outcome of the case.
