The Elite Basketball League competition continued over the last weekend with a number of games across the country.

On Saturday March 8, in the game played out at the Orange Walk Multi-Purpose Complex, the host team Orange Walk Running Rebels defeated the visiting Toledo Diplomats by the score of 87-70 to win its first game of the 2014 campaign.

The top scorers for the Orange Walk Running Rebels were Randy Usher with 19 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals, Tyron Baptist with 17 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 4 steals, and Ian Carcamo with 16 points, and 7 rebounds. For the Toledo Diplomats, the top scorers were Elbert Ariola with 18 points, and 6 rebounds, Jovannie White with 14 points, and 6 rebounds, and Evon Lino with 12 points.

At the Y-Not Island in Dangriga Town, the Dangriga Warriors defeated the Corozal Heats by the score of 50-43. The top scorers for the Dangriga Warriors were Gary Francisco with 11 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals, Jamir Flores with 10 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 steals, and Macario Augustine and Trevaughn Usher with 7 points each.

For the visiting Corozal Heats, the top scorers were Geovanni Lennan with 16 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 assists and Jason Daly and Jason Grant with 6 points each.

And then on Friday March 7, 2014, at the Sacred Heart College Auditorium in San Ignacio Town, the Cayo Western Ballaz edged out the Belize City based SMART No Limit. The top scorers for the Cayo Western Ballaz were Farron Louriano with 25 points, 16 rebounds, and 3 assists and Richard Troyer with 20 points, 9 rebounds and an assist.

The competition will continue this coming weekend.
