Marical Toledo, the 47 year old Honduran National charged with the murder of police officer Marvin Locke, was remanded to the Belize Central Prison on Monday, March 27, 2017. When he was transported to the prison, he was denied entry. Toledo was not transported with his medical forms and so was denied entrance until Tuesday March 28, 2017.

Toledo, who sustained injuries during the stabbing incident, was taken to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where his injuries were treated.

Toledo’s children, Lilian and Dilfio, expressed their concern for their father’s mental and physical status. They claim that the injuries Toledo sustained have affected him detrimentally. They also claim that their father was forced to sign a form which they were unable to access. According to Lilian, Locke made threats to her mother and her father went to see Locke and that is how the altercation transpired. Locke was rushed to the KHMH but later succumbed to his injuries.

Toledo was brought before Chief Magistrate Anne Marie Smith. Toledo was denied bail and remanded to the Belize Central Prison until June 16, 2017.
