During the weekend of 8 murders countrywide, Belize City Police from Eastern Division North had to return to the same city block where the double murder of Byron Marshall and Nelson Noralez happened. That was only 13 hours later where they found 30 year-old Randy Green, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Those injuries claimed his life less than 30 minutes later.

Police say that on Saturday, March 25, at around 3:36 p.m., they responded to a shooting incident at a carpentry shop off Kelly Street. That’s where Green had been gunned down by an unknown shooter.

Police say that he was inside the compound with other persons socializing when this attacker arrived and opened fire on Green, hitting him several times. The police found out about the incident minutes later, and they arrived on the scene, but there was nothing that could have been done to save his life.

His family has declined comment, but Green made the news only 3 months ago when he was acquitted of the murder of 9 year-old Joshua Abraham, which happened back in 2011. He and his fellow defendant had been on remand for 5 years until being found not guilty in his trial in December. With only 3 months of freedom, his life was taken from him only a short distance away from his family’s home.

Green leaves behind a 6 year-old son.
