On Wednesday, March 29, 2017, the prosecution in a rape case against Felicito Sho requested an adjournment in the matter however it was denied. Judge Lucas denied the request and the prosecutor was forced to enter a nolle prosequi. None of the prosecution’s witnesses showed up to court to testify against Sho and Lucas was forced to free Sho.

In May 2013, a 16 year old girl reported to the police that she was at home sleeping when she was awakened and raped. At the time she identified the attacker as Felicito Sho. In that year, evidence suggested that Sho was molesting her since she was 11 years old. Sho was not charged until August of 2013.

Sho was eventually arraigned but denied bail on a claim by the girl that she and her family were threatened. He was remanded to the Belize Central Prison and managed to secure bail through the Supreme Court.

Sho walks free of the rape charge as the prosecution failed to present its witnesses.
