With a loan of just under a million dollars, the Government of Belize through the Social Investment Fund has just about completed the construction of a new water system in the village of Maskall. The new system which saw its ground breaking on March 9, 2016, took almost exactly a year to complete and it will now be inaugurated in April.

Maskall had long had a water system which has been inadequate to supply the community and under the lobbying of Area Representative for Belize Rural North, Hon. Edmund Castro, finances were secured and a 40 thousand gallon water reservoir was constructed. It is complemented by a 10’X10’ pump house and new water distribution lines. The system will serve the entire village of Maskall providing water for over 1,500 residents.
