Gian Lino is the 18th Junior Cross Country champion Print E-mail

gian lino.jpg - 30.63 KbThe Cycling Federation of Belize in partnership with the Belize Electricity Ltd sponsored the 18th Annual Junior Cross Country Cycling Classic on Sunday 2nd April, 2017.

The 74 miles event which started from the Succotz Ferry in Succotz Village in the Cayo District wind its way down the George Price Highway to Mile 3, where it made a left turn onto the Chetumal Street Boulevard, and then a right turn onto the Philip Goldson Highway, where the race concluded in front of the Belize Electricity Ltd Corporate Headquarters.

The event attracted some 39 riders in the junior and youth categories. At the end of 3:57:39, it was Gian Lino of Cabral/Marin Cycling Team that rode into Belize City for the finish line all by himself for the victory.

Lino was followed by Wilhelm Coye of BIG SHEP team in a time of 4:01:04 for second place. Coye was followed by Nashen Ysaguirr of Cabral/Marin Cycling Team and he was followed by Tevin Chaplin of Imani’s Team and he was followed by Joshua Fuller of Smart Team to round off the top five finishers in the event.

The others finishers in the event were Shaun Codd, the National Junior Road Champion and he is unattached and he was followed by Jyven Gonzalez of Imani’s Team and he was followed by Derrick Chavarria of Chavarria Cycling Team and he was followed by Peter Jones of Imani’s Team and he was followed by Shawn Armstrong Jr. of BIG SHEP to round off the top ten finishers in the Junior Cross Country Classic.

The first youth rider to cross the finish line was Jyven Gonzalez of Imani’s Team and he was followed by Derrick chavarria of Chavarria Cycling Team and he was followed by Joseph Tillett of Cabral/Marin Cycling Team and he was followed by Delton Rojas of Police Team and he was followed by his team mate Raymond Hall.

The youngest rider to cross the finish line was Delton Rojas of Police Team.
