“The way a team plays as a whole determines its success. You may have the greatest bunch of individual stars in the world, but if they don’t play together, the club won’t be worth a dime.” Babe Ruth

When a group of kids get together to form a team, nothing motivates them more than having the proper gear and uniforms. This is the case in Chan Pine Ridge. The students of the Chan Pine Ridge Gov’t School are rated among the best upcoming athletes in the Orange Walk District.

This school boasts one of the best volleyball and football teams in Orange Walk but what they possess in talent they lack in resources.  They are in dire need of sports jerseys and equipment and this need was conveyed to the area representative who didn’t hesitate to respond.

On Wednesday May 3, Hon. Elodio Aragon visited the Chan Pine Ridge Government School laden with goodies for the young athletes. These gifts included uniforms for the teams and also footballs. These were well received as the kids expressed their gratitude to the Honorable Aragon for his kind gesture.

“It warms my heart in a special way, and I am overjoyed to know that I can impact your lives in a positive way. This encourages me to continue assisting you – our greatest assets – our children – our future.” remarked Honorable Aragon.

Aragon has contributed significantly to the development of sports in Orange Walk as he is of the belief that sports is a surefire way to stem criminality in any community.
