Leaders from Beyond the Horizon 2017 met with Belizean civil leaders in San Ignacio on Friday of last week in anticipation of an upcoming Medical Readiness Training Event (MEDRETE). Task force personnel discussed population control measures and medical services with local doctors and health officials in a town hall planned by Task Force Information Operations.

The deployment of medical personnel will start as had been scheduled on the 8th of May and continues to the 16th of May at the Macal Park in San Ignacio Town. Doctors will be seeing patients as from 7:00a.m.  and stop accepting patients at 3:00p.m. to allow patients to get through. The types of free services will include general family medicine, vision, dental, pediatrics and gynecology. There will be two dentists working full time at any one time. Resident in rural Cayo are advised to check with village chairmen for transportation arrangements.

Community leaders from Cayo have been welcoming of the New Horizon Teams.

“We welcome this initiative of you bringing this medical team to San Ignacio and Santa Elena and surrounding villages,” said Deputy Mayor of the San Ignacio and Santa Elena Town Council George Boiton, in addressing the New Horizon leaders last Friday.
