The Pepsi National Elite Basketball League commenced its semi-final competition on Friday 28th April, 2017, at the Stann Creek Ecumenical High School Auditorium in Dangriga Town between the Dangriga Dream Ballers and the Belmopan Bandits.

The visiting Belmopan Bandits prevailed in game one in the best of three format series when it upended the Dangriga Dream Ballers by the score of 71-55.

The top scorers for the Belmopan Bandits were Stephen Williams with 14 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals; Gregory Rudon who also scored 14 points, to go along with his 3 rebounds and 3 assists and Edgar Mitchell with 11 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 3 steals.

For the Dangriga Dream Ballers, the top scorers were Tahj Wells with 18 points, 13 rebounds and a steal; Trevaughn Usher with 12 points, 4 rebounds, and 1 assist and a steal and Akeem Trapp with 8 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals.

The second game in this series will be played on Thursday 4th May, at 8:30 pm out at the UB Gymnasium in Belmopan. During the half time of this game, the league will be presenting the 2017 Individual Awards Winners with their trophies.

In the game played on Saturday 29th April, 2017, out at the San Pedro High School Auditorium, the league’s top team the San Pedro Tiger Sharks edged out the visiting Cayo Western Ballaz by the score of 82-78.  The San Pedro Tiger Sharks were able to shake off the late game on-slaught by the Cayo Western Ballaz when it blew a 24 points lead.

The top scorers for the San Pedro Tiger Sharks were George Williams with 20 points, 1 rebound, 5 assists and 1 steal; Raul roches with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists and Douglas Vallley with 15 points, 1 rebound, 1 assist and 1 steal. Kurt Burgess contributed 3 points toward the win but he was able to pull down 16 rebounds, dished out 3 assists and 2 steals.

Meanwhile, the top scorers for the Cayo Western Ballaz were Darwin Leslie with 18 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 4 steals; Brandon Flowers with 16 points and 7 rebounds; Gene Myvette with 12 points. 4 rebounds and 2 assists and Ray Cruz who also scored 12 points to go along with his 7 rebounds and a steal.

The second game in this series is scheduled for Friday 5th May, at 9:00 pm out at the Sacred Heart College Auditorium in San Ignacio Town.
