Two weeks after a freak storm hit the village of Biscayne in the Belize District the NINE families affected are repairing and rebuilding their homes with assistance from the Government of Belize through the National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO).

Minister of National Emergency Management and Area Representative for Belize Rural North Hon Edmond Castro was on hand this past Saturday to hand over material to members of those families at the Belize District NEMO Office located in Sandhill on the Phillip Goldson Highway. The residents expressed thanks for the assistance from the Government of Belize in helping them to rebuild and repair their homes.

The Minister was accompanied by NEMO Regional Coordinator Al Westby, and NEMO Belize District Rural Coordinators, Lionel Tillett and Alphius Gillett.

The freak storm affecting Biscayne residents had hit two Saturdays earlier on April 22, 2017.
