So there are DESERVING TEACHERS who have still not been paid their HONORAIRUMS , because their various Principals and School Managements have still not presented or have presented incomplete lists to the Ministry of Education of those teachers who should have received honorariums. There are also other managements that have allegedly taken the monies that should have been paid to deserving teachers and paid all teachers, including those who were on strike in October and did not show up to work ,during that period . Not only is it political trickery to pay people who did not work, but that may also be AN ILLEGAL ACT. Those principals and managements who did so presented false claims to the ministry. The claims were false, because they did not pay those funds to the persons in whose names the funds were requested. The full weight of the law must be brought to bear on those principals and managements, in order for them to make good on those requests and correct the shortfall on payment to the deserving TEACHERS.

There are some PUP operatives and officials who would want to see the Gang Suppression Unit (GSU) disbanded. They have been promising that if they were EVER to get back into office, the first thing they would do is to disband the GSU. That type of message being sent by the PUP can only be seen for what it is and that is, PANDERING TO THEIR CORE SUPPORT i.e. the criminal elements of the society. The only people who should have problems with the GSU or any other unit of the Police Department are the criminals themselves. Perhaps we need to remind the PUP of what is written in the Bible in the book of PROVERBS , at chapter 28 verse 1: “The wicked flee though no one pursues but the righteous are as bold as a lion.” Basically that verse literally translated means, the only people who want to hide are those doing illegal things, but if one is not doing anything illegal, then one has nothing to fear and can have the light shining on them without fear. There are also some persons within the UDP who would also like to see the GSU go. They too may have their own selfish reasons why they may want to see the GSU disbanded. While we may not be the biggest fans of the police, especially the GSU, we know they have a very difficult and daunting job to do. They do that job in the streets across this nation, in perhaps some of the most hostile environments in this nation. Those persons they may encounter in the process of getting the job of investigation, deterring and enforcement are no choir boys or girls. The police officers’ approach must be equal to the resistance they encounter. There will always be people and organizations who benefit from crime and criminal activities. Political Entities, Media, Social Scientists, even some Police Officers, Spotlight Speakers and some members of the general public are just a few groups that benefit from crime and criminal activities.

Our readers and more so our younger readers need to be reminded ,that there was a time back when the PUP was in government ,when our utilities were all in private hands. Back then our economic stability was in the hands of FOREIGNERS. That was a dangerous situation, because we could have seen our lifelines, being ELECTRICITY, TELECOMMUNICATIONS and WATER taken away from under us. One only needs to remember the threats, Stan Marshall made about rolling blackouts, when his company Fortis wanted to bring pressure, on the then new UDP Administration to bail out BEL from what they were calling a financial crush at the time. Then there was the BTL situation, when Telecommunication was not yet liberated and we were forced to pay high prices. We also had the first hand experience of how business could be brought to a screeching halt when or telecommunication system was shut down as a part of industrial action during the last PUP Administration. That action showed us the effect of what a shutdown would do to us, if ever the management made such a decision to close down in order to pressure the government. Those were difficult times and we could have been placed into that type of situation again, had your United Democratic Party government not been in office. We were taken out of that position, when the UDP government under the able leadership of the Right Hon Dean Barrow righted those wrongs and returned those utilities into the hands of the Belizean Government and people, all be it at a HEAVY COST. The unenviable position we were in prior to the UDP coming to government was not because of anything the UDP did. The reason we were in that position was because of PUP’s greed, mismanagement and hustling.

There are persons known as house enemies or as Jamaicans would call them YAAD FOWL or as Belizeans would call them HOUSE NIGGERS. The latter was a term used back in the days of slavery, when many of our ancestors were slaves. There were two classes of slaves, the Field slaves who did the work in the fields sired and bore the children. They were strong and valuable. Then there were the house slaves, who were the weaklings and snitches. They were the type who could not survive ,if it were not for the few droppings they picked up that fell from the master’s table. The house slaves or house niggers got that easy job, in order that they might snitch on the field slaves. One such person who could be placed in that bracket is Eamon Courtenay. His actions are nothing short of that mentality. He is always fighting to suffer the people of Belize at the behest of his LORD and MASTER Ashcroft. For doing that he collects table scraps; however those scraps are not what we have become accustomed to call scraps. This type of scraps comes off in big chunks. For Courtenay is all about the BIG MONEY WHINE. “Cent, five cents, ten cents, forget the small change, give me big money whine, GIMME DALLA, GIMME DALLA “
