Jose Luis Rodriguez of Chile captures Pan American Cycling Championship Men Elite Individual Time Trial Print E-mail

The Pan American Cycling Union held its Pan Am Championship in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, from May 4-7, 2017.

Belize had representation in the Men’s Elite Individual Time Trial, Men U-23 Individual Time Trial, Men Elite Road Race and the Men U-23 Road Race.

The Men’s Elite Individual Time Trial was held on Friday 5 May, 2017, and covered a total distance of 40Km. This event saw the participation of some 22 cyclists from across the Pan American region.

At the conclusion of the event, it was Jose Luis Rodriguez Aguilar of Chile that captured 1st place with a total time of 0:49:31. He was followed by Rodrigo Contreras Pinzon of Colombia, and he was followed by Manuel Oseas Rodas Ochoa of Guatemala and he was followed by Ignacio Prado of Mexico and then by Cristian Camio Serrano Forero of Colombia to round off the top five finishers in this event.

Belize was represented by Edgar Nissan Arana and he completed the course in a time of +9:07 for a 21st place finished. Arana was followed by his team-mate Joel Borland who completed the course in a time of +13:11 for a 22nd place finished.
