Police conducted a series of searches in Belize City that led to the discovery of cannabis and a firearm. On May 19, 2017, Eastern Division South Strike Team personnel conducted a house search at No. 46 West Collet Canal in the Conch Shell Bay area, Belize City. That search resulted in the discovery of a black plastic bag containing cannabis. The drug was weighed and amounted to 383 grams. As a result, Wilton Anderson, a 38-year-old fisherman, was arrested and charged for drug trafficking.

The second search took place on May 21 on Mahogany Street. Kareem Gordon was searched and they found a plastic bag on him which contained 233 grams of cannabis. He was charged for drug trafficking.

The third search was conducted under a wooden bridge in front of a vegetable shop on Faber’s Road. They found a black plastic bag containing on black Beretta 9mm pistol and a magazine. No one was in the area at the time of the search and so it was labeled as found property.
