Orange Walk Police are investigating the death of a man who was found in a cane filed in that district. Police say they visited a farm on the Millers Bight area in Orange Walk on May 28, 2017.  There they saw the decomposing body of a male Hispanic person.

Investigations revealed that a man went to the farm and smelled a stench which came from a cane field behind his farm. He followed the odor and discovered the body.

A post mortem was conducted on the body and it was certified that the cause of death was a fracture to the nasal bone (facial blunt force traumatic injuries), fracture to right greater Horn and bilateral lesser Horns of Hyoid Bone, and strangulation. Police are investigating.
