Martha Parchue, a 65-year-old repeat offender for the offense of theft, was brought to court on May 29, 2017 after authorities claimed she was caught shoplifting in Lucky Star Supermarket on Central American Boulevard. Before Chief Magistrate Anne Marie Smith, Parchue pleaded not guilty to the charge of theft.

Allegations are that on Saturday, May 27, 2017, she was stealing a Celebrity brand boneless ham from off the shelf at the supermarket. Shinfeng Huang, owner of the supermarket, reported to police that while at his establishment, he and some of his employees noticed a woman placing an item from the shelf into her pants. As a result, Parchue was handed over to the police after the ham was discovered in her pants.

Parchue was unrepresented when she appeared in court but pleaded not guilty. She was offered bail in the sum of $500 plus one surety of the same. Parchue is due back in court in July 5, 2017.
