St. Joseph Primary School boys undefeated in Belize City primary schools basketball competition Print E-mail

The Belize city Primary Schools Basketball competition continued on Tuesday 6th June with four games played at the Gateway Youth Centre.

In the first of two game splayed in the girls’ competition, St. Joseph School won over St. John Vianney School by the score of 19-5. The top scorer for St. Joseph School was Afeni Lamb with 11 points and the top scorer for St. John Vianney School was Alleesha Sawazo with 3 points.

In the second game in the girls’ competition, Muslim Community School won over Queen Square Anglican School by the score of 6-0. The top scorer for Muslim Community School was Zakiyyah Sacasa with 4 points.

In the first game in the boys’ competition, St. Joseph School defeated St. John Vianney School by the score of 28-6. The top scorers for St. Joseph School were Zidene Colon and Eldon Byrd with 6 points each, while the top scorer for St. John Vainney was Kayshawn Flores with 6 points.

And in the final game of the day, Muslim Community School defeated Queen Square Anglican School by the score of 21-18. The top scorer for Muslim Community School was Ezry Alvarez with 6 points while the top scorer for Queen Square Anglican School was Ahmad Mathews with 6 points.

On Monday 5th June, in the only game played in the girls’ competition, Wesley Upper School defeated Belize Elementary School by the score of 13-10. The top scorer for Wesley Upper School was Liandra Bainton with 5 points while the top scorer for Belize Elementary School was Kelly Liu with 5 points.

In the first of two games in the boys’ competition, Belize Elementary School edged out Wesley Upper School by the score of 28-26. The top scorer for Belize Elementary School was Eric Williams with 15 points and the top scorer for Wesley Upper School was Denver Hamilton with 9 points.

In the third and final game of the day, St. Ignatius School defeated St. Luke Methodist School by the score of 33-15. The top scorer for St. Ignatius School was Leroy Betson with 10 points and the top scorer for St. Luke Methodist School was Daniel Gallego with 9 points.

The competition continued on Friday 2nd June, with four games on the schedule. In the only game played in the girls’ competition, St. Martin De Porres School defeated Holy Redeemer School by the score of 16-6. The top scorer for St. Martin De Porres was Shantel Flowers with 12 points and the top scorers for Holy Redeemer School was Kiana Novelo with 6 points.

In the first of three games in the boys’ competition, St. Martin De Porres School defeated Holy Redeemer School by the score of 36-16. The top scorer for St. Martin De Porres School was Evan Welch with 18 points and the top scorer for Holy Redeemer School was Ahmaad Card with 9 points.

In game two, St. Ignatius School defeated Wesley Upper School by the score of 18-10. The top scorer for St. Ignatius School was Kyle Castillo with 9 points while the top scorers for Wesley Upper School were Leshawn Hamilton and Denver Hamilton with 3 points each.

And in the final game of the day, Muslim Community School boys won over Trinity Methodist School via the default route.

And on Wednesday 31st May, in the first of two games played in the girls’ competition, St. Martin De Porres School won over All Saints Anglican School by the score of 7-4. The top scorer for St. Martin De Porres School was Shantel Flowers with 4 points and the top scorers for All Saints Anglican School were Imanie and Nyaha Robinson with 2 points each.

In game two in the girls’ competition, Belize Elementary School defeated St. Luke Methodist School by the score of 8-2. The top scorer for Belize Elementary School was Sanna Rowland with 6 points and the top scorer for St. Luke Methodist School was Ashley Guevara with 2 points.

In the first game in the boys’ competition, St. Martin De Porres School defeated All Saints Anglican School by the score of 30-15. The top scorer for St. Martin De Porres School was Evan Welch with 18 points and the top scorers for All Saints Anglican School were D’Andre Betson and Shane Pratt with 6 points each.

And in the final game of the day, Belize Elementary School defeated St. Luke Methodist School by the score of 40-23. The top scorer for Belize Elementary School was Eric Williams with 19 points while the top scorer for St. Luke Methodist School was Daniel Gallego with 13 points.
