Mental patient stabs 84 year old businessman in Orange Walk Print E-mail

On June 10, 2017, police received information of a stabbing incident at Reyes Tortillas place situated on Progress Street, Orange Walk Town. They visited the area where they saw blood stains on the ground and a kitchen knife with blade measuring 8 inches in length with blood stains.

Investigation reveals that 84-year-old Pablo Reyes, businessman of Progress Street, was standing outside his business place when a mental patient, 33-year-old Nigel Guerra, of Savannah Street, Louisiana area, Orange Walk Town reportedly approached him and inflected stab wounds to his left forearm and two stab wounds to the abdomen area. Guerra made good his escape.

Reyes was admitted to the ward at the Northern Regional Hospital in a critical but stable condition. Police are investigating.
