Santiago Padilla, 32-years-old, is remanded after being accused of stealing over $177,309.18 worth in meters, a total of 3,033 face meters, from BEL. Padilla’s arraignment took place before Senior Magistrate Sharon Fraser where he was read a single charge of theft. He pleaded not guilty but the prosecutor in the case, Cpl. Christopher Smith, objected to bail. He was remanded into custody until July 26, 2017.

Allegations are that between February 2017 and April 2017, he stole the face meters.
