The hurricane season in the country has already begun and Mayor Bradley says that we are better prepared for flooding that is expected to happen this season. Mayor Bradley in an interview on June 19, 2017 recalls the effects of hurricane Earl. He says that the city saw improved levels of runoff as a result of the flood mitigation projects funded by the Inter-American Development Bank and some of the works that the City Council has been carrying out in terms of drainage and infrastructure.

The council has taken up the initiative of marking flood prone areas and hopes that because of their responsiveness and continuous efforts, we will see continuously improving levels of drainage. Quite recently, there has been the development of a unit that will be focused on a 24-hour drain clean up and flood mitigation to better respond to real-time situations.

Mayor Bradley admits that while we have thus far seen some improvements, there is more work to be done.
