On Wednesday June 14, 2017, police responded to an armed robbery report at Southern Quick Loan on Chatuye Street, Dangriga. There they spoke to 29-year-old Felecita Murcia, cashier of Southern Quick Loan, who reported that while at the business place, a male person entered the office with a manila envelope in his hand and immediately pushed her inside the office, closed the door, and took out what appeared to be a firearm. He pointed the firearm at her and demanded money. She handed over $412.00. The culprit searched the cabinets and reportedly hit Murcia on the left side of her face. He stole electronic items, jewelry, and other miscellaneous items all to a value of over $3,000.

Police have since apprehended 34-year-old Bruce Harvey, surveyor of #7 Dolphin Street, Belize City, and recovered the stolen items along with a black 9mm pistol with a magazine containing (10) live rounds.
