A man from Unitedville in Cayo was fatally injured in a traffic accident on Friday. Forty one year old Kenrick Anthony Myvette received multiple head and body injuries after being flung from a motorcycle near Running W on the George Price Highway. This was as a result of hitting a vehicle coming in the opposite direction, driven at the time by Elvin Penner, a Public Relations Representative at Koop Sheet Metal.

Former Minister Elvin Penner reported that he was driving his Ford Excursion from Belmopan to San Ignacio and while trying to overtake a red mini van a motorcycle suddenly appeared. To prevent collision Penner went to the right, hit the mini van and the motorcycle hit the left front side of the bumper. This was when the motorcyclist Kenrick Myvette was catapulted off his motorcycle. Myvette was then taken to the Western Regional Hospital, but due to his condition, was later taken to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. Myvette passed away early on Saturday.

Meanwhile; Elvin Penner has been charged with Manslaughter by Negligence, Causing Death by Careless Conduct, and driving without due care and attention.
