Police have found the body of a 49 year-old Guatemalan Farmer from the Stann Creek Village of Alta Visa. The cops believe that the victim, Cesar Augusto Monroy, was murdered, and left in that location, where it was already decomposing.

Dangriga Police found Cesar Monroy on Tuesday, August 8, 2017, at around 6:30 a.m. They were called to Davis Falls Road, which is in his home village. An inspection of his body led the officers to find a large cut wound to the back of his neck, and another on his left hand.

Investigations have revealed that Monroy left his home in Alta Vista on Sunday, August 6, 2017, and he went missing for the duration of that evening, and the next day. 73 year-old Jose Antonio Garcia, another Guatemalan farmer, has reported to police that he discovered Monroy’s body on Davis Falls Road at around 5:30 a.m. He told the cops that he was walking on the road when he saw some stones with blood stains on them. He went looking, and that’s when he found Monroy’s body.

The investigators are questioning several persons who they believe knew or should have known that Monroy was missing, but didn’t report it to police in a timely fashion.
