On Saturday August 5, 2017 at about 6:45 p.m., police, acting upon information received of a road traffic accident on the George Price Highway in front of Woodlands at Benque Viejo Town, visited the scene where they observed a motorcycle with its front wheel and front portion extensively damaged. A Geo Prizm taxi was also seen with its front portion extensively damaged.

Initial investigation revealed that a few minutes earlier, the driver of the Prizm took a sudden left turn that caused the motorcycle to collide into the front portion of the car. The motorcycle was being driven by Frederick Joseph Bradley, a 45-year-old Belizean security officer of Branch Mouth road, San Ignacio Town, while the taxi was being driven by Francisco Javier Garcia Jr., a 34-year-old Belizean taxi driver of Benque Viejo Town. Both Bradley and Garcia were travelling in the direction of Benque Viejo to the Western Border.

Medical legal forms were issued to both parties who were escorted to the San Ignacio Hospital. A blood specimen was obtained from both drivers and they have both been listed in a stable condition.
