The Belize River Valley Supplies Gas Station located in Scotland Half-moon Village Belize Rural District was robbed in March 2016. The Manager and two patrons were also robbed of their personal belongings and cash at gun point. The quick response of police in the area at the time led to the arrest of the men who were found not too far from the scene.

Over a year later, the arrest led to the conviction of 25-year-old Trevor McFoy and 19-year-old Kendall Staine. They were both found guilty of the charges of robbery and for keeping an unlicensed firearm and ammunitions when they appeared before Magistrate Carlon Mendoza in court on August 16, 2017.

Present for the handing down of the decision was McFoy and his attorney Ivy Pitts. Staine’s court record shows that he has not been showing up for his case since the trial began.

Both McFoy and Staine were imposed 2 custodial sentences of 6 months each for the firearm, a 9 mmm pistol and ammunitions offenses, for 8 live rounds of 9mmm ammunitions. For the three counts of robbery, the men were fined $1,000 each plus a $5.00 cost of court where they were both ordered to pay by December 29, 2017 in default of 6 more months behind bars.
