A man could lose his arm after being attacked by another man over the weekend. The man accused of the attack was arraigned in the Belize City court on Tuesday, August 22, 2017. He has been identified as 21-year-old Lynton Maskall, a resident of Belize City.

Maskall appeared before acting Chief Magistrate Sharon Fraser where he was read a single charge of grievous harm upon Austin Williams, his neighbor. No plea was taken from Maskall in light of the fact that the doctor that performed the examination on Williams recommended that he see a specialist in reference to his injuries. As a result, the charge against Maskall might be upgraded to a more serious offense.

There was no objection to bail and it was granted to Maskall in the sum of $2,000 plus one surety of the same amount which he was able to meet. He was ordered to stay away from the victim.

Allegations are that the accused, who was along with his uncle Kenyon Maskall and others, were together when Maskall attacked Williams with a knife over a dispute between the families.
