Dragons eliminate BTL from Firms’ competition playoffs Print E-mail

The Belize District Basketball Association 2017 Firms’ competition playoffs commenced on Friday 25th August, at the Swift Hall in Belize City.

In the first game of the Quarter-final round played, Dragons the number one seed eliminated BTL by the score of 94-77.

The top scorers for Dragons were Cordel Gonzalez Jr. with 18 points, 4 rebounds and a steal; Andrew Vasquez who scored 17 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals and Akeem Watters with 16 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 4 steals.

For the BTL team, the top scorers were Lennox Bowman with 17 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 steals; Lennox Cayetano who contributed 15 points to go along with his 9 rebounds and a steal in a losing effort and Jason Vasquez who also scored 15 points and had 4 rebounds and an assist.

In the second game of the Quarter-final round, Tuff e Nuff eliminated Mayan Man Warriors by the score of 56-55.

The top scorers for Tuff e Nuff were Raul Roches with 16 points and 11 rebounds; Justin Wade with 9 points and 2 rebounds and Rico Black who also scored 9 points and 2 rebounds. Meanwhile, the top scorers for Mayan Man Warriors were Keven Lorenzo with 12 points, 4 rebounds and an assist; Winston Pratt with 11 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists and a steal and Raymond Gongora with 10 points and 2 rebounds.

The Quarter-final round then continued on Saturday 26th August, 2017, with two more games on the schedule.

In the first game of the evening, Belize Bank Bulldogs eliminated Infotel/Mars by the score of 78-68.

The top scorers for the Belize Bank Bulldogs were Roderick Williams with 26 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist and a steal; roscoe Rhys with 20 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals and Aleem Richardson with 15 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals.

For the Infotel/Mars team, the top scorers were Elvis Olivera with 38 points and 11 rebounds and Earl Jones with 11 points, 11 rebounds and an assist.

And in the final game of the Quarter-final round, Central Health eliminated The Kings by the score of 81-63.

The top scorers for Central Health were Neil Nicholson with 16 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals; Faisal Ahmad also with 16 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 steals and Keith Pollard with 13 points, 6 rebounds and an assist.

Meanwhile, the top scorers for The Kings were Leon Williams with 13 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist and a steal; Farron Louriano with 10 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 steals and Marshall Nuñez Jr. who also scored 10 points to go along with his 2 assists and 2 rebounds.
