This week, we look at how love binds us together. The missionary and church planter Paul, in Ephesians chapter 4, verse 16 wrote: “From [Jesus] the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.”

Where there is no love there can be no faith. If we understood how much God loves us, we will be willing to give up everything for Him. Jesus Himself confirmed it in John 17:23, “I am in them, and you are in me. May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me, and that you love them as much as you love me.” This verse should make us rejoice at all times. Such amazing love will deliver us from whatever comes against us. When we fall, we know that we will arise again.

The same kind of love that God has for us is what should bind us together as believers. The Bible calls us the body of Christ, because we all have different parts of the revelation, and when we bring it together it forms our understanding of Jesus, so we grow into Him who is the head.

One major problem in the body is everyone believes they know best. When we join together we must speak the truth of God’s Word, the Bible, in unity! As we say, we must “be on the same page!” Jesus is coming back soon, and He is coming for a strong powerful and united body, that has matured from all these petty squabbles that are tearing us apart.

Let's choose unity in faith, and love the sinner but hate the sin. His grace is sufficient to help us believe His love for us, so we can go and do the same for each other.

Remember: Love bonds us together in a way that overcomes the world.
