A Belize City teenager who two years ago was convicted of harm was on Wednesday before the court for the offense of wounding. She is 18-year-old Daniel Garnett, a resident of Belize City. Garnett appeared unrepresented before Magistrate Aretha Ford on September 6, 2017 where she was read a single charge of wounding upon Tyra Humes.

The allegations against Garnett are that on Saturday, September 2, 2017, she punched Humes in the face at the BTL Park. Humes further alleged that she was also hit in her chin with a lock Garnett had gotten hold of.

While Garnett pleaded not guilty, a 2015 charge of harm against Garnett came back to haunt her. She was fined $505 for that charge and was bounded to keep the peace but the fine remains outstanding. On the new case, she was ordered to pay her outstanding fine to not be taken to prison.
