Belize Benefits from the Republic of Korea’s Development Assistance Programme Print E-mail

On Monday, September 18th, the Government of Belize received a donation of office equipment and two vehicles from the Government of the Republic of Korea through an official Development Assistance Programme for the fiscal year 2017.

Presenting the donation on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Korea was His Excellency Lee In-ho, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea in El Salvador, and receiving the equipment and vehicles on behalf of the Government of Belize was His Excellency Patrick Andrews, Chief Executive Officer at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belize.

The donation was successfully executed by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA). The KOICA is a governmental agency dedicated to providing grant aid programs and supporting the sustainable socioeconomic growth of partner countries like Belize. The donation was granted to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and will aid in the capacity strengthening of the Ministry.

The Republic of Korea and Belize commemorate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations this year. The Korean Government has generously supported Belize in areas such as human resource development, capacity building, and technical cooperation.

The official handing over ceremony took place at the office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Laing Building, in Belize City.
